The long awaited DVD release of the Jay Reatard documentary has been announced. Better Than Something will hit stores on December 18 via Factory 25, the company behind the You Weren’t There release. Much like You Weren’t There, Better Than Something will come in the standard DVD release but also come bundled with an LP of the soundtrack and/or a book. The DVD is set to contain an extra 20 minutes of deleted scenes, the LP (limited to 500) contains unreleased live tracks from across Reatard’s life and the book will contain previously unseen photos, an unpublished interview with Jay and essays by Lost Sounds’ Alicja Trout, Black Lips’ Cole Alexander, TV Smith of the Adverts, King Khan and others. You can see the LP track list along with a stream of a live take on the Reatards’ “No One Stands Me” from Gonerfest 2005.
