Yesterday morning some rumors began to swirl that Andrew W.K.’s appointment as a Cultural Ambassador to the Middle East had been revoked. We can now confirm that fact, as the department has canceled the mission outright, according to The Washington Post. According to State Department Press Secretary at a press conference, the visit “…was initially approved, and then when more senior management at the embassy took a look at this, the conclusion was that this was not an appropriate use of U.S. government funds.”
