A little more than a year after the announcement proving love is dead and maybe never existed in the first place, the last of Sonic Youth’s four members is back to performing. Kim Gordon’s new free noise project Body Head (with Bill Nace) released the “The Eyes, The Mouth” single earlier this year through Belgian label Ultra Eczema and will play their first American show next month in support of it. It’s set for January 26, 2013 at Union Pool in New York City and tickets are available here. Gordon will also be performing solo at the Chicago Museum of Contemporary Art on March 26, 2013 as part of its Face The Strange music series
Since the above mentioned split, Thurston Moore has kept busy with Chelsea Light Moving and having his gear stolen, Lee Ranaldo released his first solo LP Between The Time and The Tides and Steve Shelley put in time with Chicago’s Disappears and played on their 2012 LP Pre Language before recently leaving. The band proper also began their long awaited vault project by releasing Smart Bar – Chicago 1985 last month.
