Howard is a 1.5 year old neutered male dog who came into the shelter on 11/16/16 as a stray. Howard is a friendly guy. He engages with volunteers and is interested in getting lots of attention. Howard takes treats gently and seems treat motivated, he knows ‘sit,’ but can be stubborn on occasion and want the treat before putting his butt on the ground. He pulls ahead on his leash when walking outside and when he’s excited. We think the perfect home would be with an adopter who wants to help him learn some basic manners and better leash walking – all things that can be easily taught with a patience and understanding. We think Howard is extremely handsome and would make a great companion to someone who is active and also likes a good cuddle session at the end of the day.
Howard also joined the shelter’s off leash playgroup with other dogs. At this time Howard has joined playgroup with only female dogs – has not yet been tested with males. He enjoys contact play, dancing around, and chasing, so would do best with a partner who likes the same kind of interaction.
