The Cribs are huge in their native U.K., but Wakefield’s band of brothers have yet to break through in North America. And while this is a damn shame, it hasn’t stopped the band from making Chicago their home away from home. The Cribs’ Windy City roots run deep: their self-titled debut full-length record was produced by avant garde musician and Chicago native Bobby Conn, they recorded their new album (24-7 Rock Star Shit, out now via Sonic Blew) here at Electrical Audio with Steve Albini, and they’ve logged many hours in our fair city in between.
We asked Ryan and Gary Jarman from the Cribs to love on Chicago aboard the Riot Fest Ferris wheel following their Friday night festival performance, as fellow countrymen New Order gave a clinic on the Roots Stage in the background.
