The shelter remains at a very high population and we are still looking for the public to come meet some of our amazing adoptable dogs. Stop in any day from 12pm-6pm to meet the pups and adopt.
NUGGET A164909 • Neutered, 4 year-old Male • Available for Adoption at Chicago ACC
Nugget came to the shelter as a stray. He’s a nice dog, easy to leash and exit the pavilion. He’s strong and wanted to lead yet I was able to get his attention with food and allowed redirection. He was so happy to be outside he took time to roll, to enjoy & feel the grass. He focused on other dogs in the yard; he was alert but had a wagging tail. His face had signs of old scaring and abrasions on his neck area. He was treat & toy motivated and knows sit. Nugget needs help with impulse control. He’s a little ‘rough’ nugget at the moment yet was able to take cues. With training, this boy will be awesome.
Nugget attends dog playgroup. He busts out the occasional run and participates in bursts of chase. Sometimes he will try to hump a play partner, but he takes correction well and tends to be tolerant and respectful of his play partners.
