Last month, Slayer announced that it would wrap up its 37 year-long bloody reign over the world of heavy metal by heading out on May 10 for one last tour around the globe (and, by proxy, hell). In 2016, vocalist/bassist Tom Araya told Loudwire, “After 35 years, it’s time to collect my pension.”
To celebrate — and maybe to help sell tickets — Araya, founding guitarist Kerry King, drummer Paul Bostaph, and Gary Holt (from Exodus, he joined the band following guitarist Jeff Hanneman’s untimely demise from liver failure in 2013) have produced a series of videos honoring their band’s career and legacy.
Episode one can be viewed below, followed by the schedule for leg one of Slayer’s farewell tour schedule. Joining the band on various points throughout that North American trek will be Lamb of God, Anthrax, Behemoth, and Testament.
