Before he was pounding the traps for Poptone, drummer Kevin Haskins kept it together (musically, at least) for such bands as Love & Rockets, Tones On Tail, and of course, legendary post-punk pioneers Bauhaus. The latter is the subject of Bauhaus Undead, a gorgeous art book featuring Haskins’ amusing original stories, placed against a backdrop of mostly never-before-seen ephemera from his personal collection. Covering the inception of Bauhaus in 1978 through their 2005 reunion, this stunningly-laid out historical record includes a treasure trove of articles, handmade flyers, tour memorabilia, fan mail, old personal photographs, and so much more.
We asked Haskins to share one of his favorite amusing original stories from the book, so we could have local comic artist (and huge Bauhaus fan) Bianca Xunise bring it to life. Below are the results—click on the first panel to enlarge, and then scroll through with your arrow keys (or if you’re mobile, swipe away).
