The Chicago Animal Care and Control is currently extremely packed, and its canine tenants are in desperate need of adoption. The desperation is so palatable that the shelter is waving all adoption fees for the rest of October. Please consider welcoming your new best friend to his or her new forever home today. When you adopt, your loving homes become even more loving, and you’ll be sparing innocent dogs the heartbreaking reality of euthanasia.
So head on down to CACC any weekday this October (from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.) to meet the pups… Who knows? Maybe you’ll bring home one of your own! Isn’t it about time you adopted an adorable adoptable puppy? Yes, yes it is.
Shi is energetic, especially after such a long stray hold. She came right up to be leashed and walked past the barking dogs like they didn’t exist. Outside she dropped right into a sit before I could even ask. She saw my treats and knew just what to do, little smarty pants!
Shi knows other commands too. Someone has already put in the work to train her. She allowed for handling all over, wasn’t very interested in toys (no matter how I danced them in front of her), and took treats very nicely. Shi was desperate for attention and got pretty excited when I crouched down to her level. She wanted to give constant kisses to show her appreciation. When Shi got a chance to meet another dog on leash, she didn’t disappoint with her multiple play moves!
She will definitely need careful pairings with other dogs since her go to move is to hump the others and that can upset some dogs.
