It’s a good time to be a Neil Young fan. If you’re one of Neil Young’s chickens, this is especially the case. In his latest entry to his ongoing Fireside Sessions live videos, shot by his wife Daryl Hannah he moved things outside and performed another batch of acoustic songs to his various chickens, horses, llamas, and one alpaca.
The video, posted today on the Neil Young Archive, includes acoustic renditions of “Tumbleweed,” “Everyone Knows This Is Nowhere,” and even the title track from his unreleased (but soon-to-be unveiled) 1975 album Homegrown. Young recently revealed the first single “Try” from said long-shelved album.
Like past Fireside Sessions, this one delivers—and the barnyard animals only make it better. At one point he even thanks the chickens. How polite! You can go watch over at the Neil Young Archive.
