In an effort to help out local bands and artists through the pandemic, Cobra Lounge has teamed up with Jeppson’s to launch a pop-up shop opening October 15, 2020. Chicago Craft – A Collective Grip will be open Thursdays through Saturday, 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. showcasing local bands and artists.
The pop-up will have vintage Riot Fest merchandise available, alongside merch from local bands, a weekly featured tattoo artist (Jason Hoodrich of Family Tattoo is up first), and lots of raffles and giveaways. And of course, there’ll be to-go craft cocktails from local guest bartenders, barrel-aged Malört shots, and build-your-own 6-packs from local breweries.
“As a Chicago institution that is directly affected by all facets of industry, community and cultural shut-downs, we wanted to provide an opportunity to showcase all we have to offer,” Cobra Lounge manager Louie Mendicino shared in a press release.“Whether it be the small Chicago breweries, local bands who call our stage a home, struggling artists in our community or our neighborhood distillery, survival of our culture is the number one priority. Jeppsons and Cobra Lounge aim to create a space to showcase a part of Chicago culture and afford an obtainable outlet for the community to support those endeavors.”
You can check it out at 235 N. Ashland every Thursday to Saturday (for more info, head over to cobralounge.com).
