Eight years since their last release, My Chemical Romance have shook their fans (and several members of our staff) to the core with a comeback track. Listen to “The Foundations of Decay” below.
The surprise single is the first new music from the group since “Fake Your Death,” a previously-unreleased track from their 2014 greatest hits compilation May Death Never Stop You. Stylistically, the six-minute song leans into a heavier, hardcore sound that retains the familiar MCR sound.
It’s unclear whether the song is brand-new, previously unreleased, or even a cut from an unannounced album. Regardless: it goes hard! And thankfully, we’ll all be (likely) hearing this and more at Riot Fest this September.
