After a lengthy wait (since 2019!), My Chemical Romance are finally playing shows again. Last night, the band kicked off their UK tour at the Eden Project in Cornwall, opening with a first-ever performance of their new single “The Foundations of Decay.” Watch it happen below.
Prior to this, My Chemical Romance’s only reunion show was back in December 2019 at LA’s Shrine Exposition Hall; There’s no doubt anticipation was high. Based on the reactions from last night’s 6,500-person crowd, though, we’re guessing it was a great time—especially with a new song right at the forefront, one that Mikey Way has already called his “favorite My Chemical Romance Song of all time.”
The show also featured rare performances of tracks like “This Is How I Disappear” and “Make Room!!!!”—as well as the live debut of “Surrender the Night” and “Boy Division,” two tracks off MCR’s 2013 compilation Conventional Weapons. It’s safe to say that whoever ends up at Riot Fest 2022 this year is in for a treat.
