Turns out this town is big enough for the both of us.
This weekend Lollapalooza returns to Chicago for four days of music and the most crowded L stations you’ve seen in your life. The Riot Team, despite popular belief, actually enjoys music and occasionally even other music festivals (minus the Riot Fest Twitter Guy). Here are some our favorite artists to keep an eye out for at this year’s Lollapalooza.
Listen to our Lollapalooza Staff Picks playlist on Spotify or Apple Music and while you’re at it, secure your 1,2, or 3-Day tickets to Riot Fest 2024 before they’re gone.
1-Day, 2-Day, and 3-Day Riot Fest tickets are on sale now!

Jen
Chappell Roan
It’s where I belong, down at the Pink Pony Club.
The Last Dinner Party
I will dance like nothing matters.
Kesha
I’ll be there hoping for the original TikTok.
Dan
Deftones
There’s no crowd in the streets, and no sun…in my own summer.
Mo
Megan Thee Stallion
Throw Ass.
SZA
Throw ass. But also maybe experience deep feelings?
Reneé Rapp
Throw ass (gayly). Maybe more feelings.
Victoria Monét
Throw ass.
Chappell Roan
Throw ass (gayly). Definitely more feelings.
Tate McRae
Throw ass.
Conan Gray
Throw ass (gayly).

The Last Dinner Party
One of the best albums of the year.
blink-182
One of the best bands ever.
Marc
Fleshwater
Beautifully lush hybrid of hardcore meets shoegaze.
Taylor Acorn
Psycho is an absolute jam. And her set at Riot last year cemented me as a fan for life.
Militarie Gun
The new voice of hardcore. Cannot get enough of this band.
Brigitte Calls Me Baby
The lazy comparisons throw around name Roy Orbison and Morrissey in reviews. But I have been known to be considered lazy on occasion so check them out and decide for yourself.
TV Girl
Hypnotic pop for a cerebral dance party.
The Last Dinner Party
My favorite album of the year was release by The Last Dinner Party. My favorite show of the year belongs to them as well. The future of pop music.
Cults
I’ve been a fan since the moment I first heard the single for Go Outside. Perfectly crafted dream pop for a Sunday at Lolla.
Anika
Scarlet Demore
If there’s one band on this lineup I could recommend the Riot team and our readers, its Scarlet Demore hands down. Chicago indie punk crycore, whats not to love?
Ethel Cain
My most anticipated set of the summer. Fully prepared to have a spiritual experience to Strangers.
Blondshell
Another alternative rock goddess on the Lolla lineup? Say less. Definitely check her out while she’s in town and get bragging rights once she blows up even more than she currently has.
Chappell Roan
Your favorite artist’s favorite artist is also your favorite music festival’s favorite artist. Absolute legend.
Kesha
I say with confidence Kesha was one of my favorite concerts I’ve been to, like ever. Can’t wait to celebrate the start of her independent career.
Tim
blink-182
Back when I was a youth, this was my band, and they still got it. Also, Jake loves them and I love Jakey poo.
Taylor Acorn
It’s impossible not to sing along to Taylor Acorn songs, and she keeps getting better with each release.
Deftones
Heard them for the first time on the first Matrix soundtrack and have loved them ever since.
Pierce The Veil
Even though everyone knows them for their 2012 album Collide With The Sky, I think their best stuff is still on their recent album The Jaws Of Life, which you should definitely listen to.
Post Sex Nachos
Easily one of the top 5 band names I’ve ever read. I haven’t even listened to their music. This is solely a vibes pick.
Jake
Megan Thee Stallion
Back in 2019, Megan was the 1st opener on the “Legendary Nights” tour, which was co-headlined by Future and Meek Mill, and also featured YG and Mustard. It was obvious even back then though that she should be a headliner, not an opener. Now she’s headlining the biggest fest in town (alongside Future this time, who is playing Saturday) and I’m sure she will not disappoint!
Dylan Brady
Dylan is probably better known as one of the two members of 100 Gecs. Outside of Gecs, he writes and produces for a number of other artists (ie Charli XCX and Rico Nasty, he even worked on a song with RF alum, Pussy Riot). I don’t really know much of what to expect from a live Dylan Brady set, but I’d definitely want to be there to find out.
Chicago-based shoegaze-ey “crycore”. They rip, get there early on Sunday to see for yourself!
blink-182
I wouldn’t be here working in music if it weren’t for Blink!

Riot Fest Twitter Guy
Do you really think the person who runs the Riot Fest twitter would want to go to a music festival on their day off? I am old and grumpy and I don’t know any of these bands. Half of them are made up. Please leave me alone.
