For its 20th anniversary, the festival is bringing that spirit home, reuniting Chicago’s most beloved meteorologist with the forecast itself as a tribute to the city where it all began.
For 45 years, Chicagoans turned to Tom Skilling for forecasts delivered with both expertise and charm, building an endearing bond that lasted generations. Though he’s now enjoying retirement and splitting his time in Hawaii, Skilling will return — via video link — to deliver the official forecast for Riot Fest 2025. And the story doesn’t end there: he’s also committed to joining us in person for live forecasts at Riot Fest 2026, a reunion we couldn’t be more thrilled about.
