The Twin Cities alt-weekly City Pages reported a promising nugget for all Replacements fans yesterday. Former ‘Mats Paul Westerberg and Tommy Stinson are collaborating on a new track for an upcoming Slim Dunlap benefit album. Dunlap, the latter day lead guitarist for The Replacements, suffered a stroke and a damaging fall earlier this year and has been slow on the recovery path. Earlier this month, ‘Mats drummer Chris Mars released his first new music in 16 years, a song titled “When I Fall Down” as a pay-download benefit single. As more information on the tribute album and Dunlaps recovery process gets out I’ll make sure to keep you all informed.
