In a recent interview with NME, My Bloody Valentine’s Kevin Shields allowed for the possibility of new material from the band. In the interview he says the album will be released before the year’s end via their website and will be followed up by an EP. About the new songs, Sheilds says
I think with this record, people who like us will immediately connect with something. Based on the very, very few people who’ve heard stuff – some engineers, the band, and that’s about it – some people think it’s stranger than Loveless. I don’t. I feel like it really frees us up, and in the bigger picture it’s 100 per cent necessary.
If it happens, the record will be the follow up to 1991’s Loveless. As there’s more information released we’ll let you all know.
