Even though the Russian government has imprisoned three members of the band, their pursuit of Pussy Riot is not over. Reports indicate that two other members of the Russian punk band have successfully fled the country in order to avoid prosecution. “In regard to the pursuit, two of our members have successfully fled the country! They are recruiting foreign feminists to prepare new actions!” read one tweet from the group. Pyotr Verzilov, the husband of imprisoned member Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, issued a statement saying “Since the Moscow police said they are searching for them, they will keep a low profile for now. They are in a safe place beyond the reach of the Russian police.” Russian authorities are expected to keep searching for other members of the collective.
