Waterlogged swamp rats, also known as nutria, have been washing up on the Magnolia State beaches due to Hurricane Isaac. About 15,000 casualties washed up on Mississippi shores forcing the beaches to remain closed till clean up crews, who have already collected over 16 tons of dead animals, have given the green light for the reopen. Cleaning up the rat mess is no easy task as crews are forced to wear hazmat suits and masks. Turns out, the bodies of these rats have turned into mini “bombs” due to the increased pressure from the sweltering heat.
