Last week news broke about the US State Department naming Andrew W.K. a Cultural Ambassador to the Middle East. It made sense, it was weird and it was awesome, but it might not be true. The Huffington Post is reporting this morning that a communications staff member in the state department was unaware of the appointment. In any case, W.K. will begin a tour of the region’s elementary schools, music venues, the University of Bahrain and other spots to “…promote partying and positive power… and world peace.”
