A pretty great piece came out today from our friends at the Chicagoist about former Illinois Governor and current federal inmate and former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich and his time in prison.
On Monday, his attorneys filed a motion to reduce his 14-year sentence to just five-years. And buried in all the details about his time in prison and his model behavior, comes the news that Rod Blagojevich was in a prison band. And, of course, the band chose the not-so-obvious name The Jailhouse Rockers—a homage to Blago’s favorite musician, Elvis Presley.
Our guess is that Blagojevich likely appointed his fellow Rockers if they approved of the name before they joined and threw in some additional Ramen Noodle commissary kickbacks.
Unfortunately, the Jailhouse Rockers are currently on “hiatus,” using the same old excuse bands use when they’re gearing up for a money-grab reunion five-years from now: the lead guitar player was released from prison.
