If you’re looking for something fun for the kids to do, you should check out After School Satan Club, the new after-school program The Satanic Temple wants to bring to an elementary school near you.
The after-school program will include, a healthy snack, literature lessons, creative learning and problem solving activities, science lessons, and an art project.
The Satanic Temple’s co-founder, Lucien Greave, aka Doug Mesner, told the Washington Post, “it’s critical that children understand that there are multiple perspectives on all issues, and that they have a choice in how they think.”
According to the After School Satan Club website, the “Educatin’ with Satan” program will focus on “critical reasoning, independent-thinking, fun and free thought.”
The Satanic Temple does not believe in a literal Satan or promote devil worship. According to the organization’s website, “The mission of The Satanic Temple is to encourage benevolence and empathy among all people, reject tyrannical authority, advocate practical common sense and justice, and be directed by the human conscience to undertake noble pursuits guided by the individual will.”
After School Satan Club will be competing with Good News Clubs, a fundamentalist evangelical Christian after school group that has been in public schools since a 2001 Supreme Court case.
