We were excited to get our ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow Pot O’ Gold St. Patrick’s Day Cookie Cutter’ we ordered off Amazon last week. We planned to have a party and watch Leprechaun, Leprechaun 2, Leprechaun 3, and Leprechaun 4: In Space, and wanted to have some fun snacks for the kids during the movie marathon.
We followed the directions to the letter, but in the end, this cookie cutter just didn’t rise to the occasion. The cookies tasted fine they just weren’t as big as promised.
And it looks like we aren’t the only ones with some less than average reviews of the cookie cutter either.

I was so excited to make cookies for the annual school Saint Patrick’s Day party at my son’s school. The night before I stayed up all night making over 100 “pot o’gold” cookies. They were really great! The cookie cutter is of exceptional quality and it is awesome that it is of such a fun shape. No more boring heart shaped cookies for me sir! The trouble began when I ran out of food coloring. I had to use dark pink icing for the entire cookie. I may update this review later and let you all know how the disciplinary hearing with the school board goes.

When I ordered it, they said it was over 8 inches. The actual product was closer to 4. Now no one will even touch my small Pot O’ Gold cookies, much less put it in their mouth. Size really does matter.

No matter what I did, I couldn’t get the cookie dough to rise. My wife said “Oh, honey. It’s ok. It happens to all bakers now and then.” Which, you know, was nice of her to say. Still, I felt kind of deflated.
