Thrice-divorced, sentient bag of pus, and conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh thinks that the National Hurricane Center, which is part of the National Weather Service, which is part of the Commerce Department, which is part of the Obama Administration is “playing games” with its weather forecasts to scare people into believing in climate change, even though multiple studies published in peer-reviewed scientific journals show that 97 percent or more of actively publishing climate scientists agree: Climate-warming trends over the past century are extremely likely due to human activities.
Limbaugh did admit that Hurricane Matthew, currently a category 4 hurricane on a dangerous path towards Florida and the eastern United States which has already killed more than 100 people in the Caribbean, is a “serious storm,” he also claimed the US has gone “11 straight years of no major hurricanes”. While no Category 3 hurricanes have made landfall in 11 years, the so-called “hurricane drought” was misleading, according to Weather Channel senior meteorologist Jonathan Erdman, told Huffington Post. 10 extremely damaging storms including Hurricanes Sandy, Irene and Ike have made landfall in the US since Katrina in 2005.
