It’s happening, isn’t it? It’s really happening. I can just taste those meaty leading man parts in my mouth.
According to Variety, it’s official. Arrested Development will be returning to Netflix for a fifth season in 2018. I mean it’s just one season, what could it cost? Ten dollars?
“In talks with Netflix we all felt that that stories about a narcissistic, erratically behaving family in the building business — and their desperate abuses of power — are really underrepresented on TV these days,” original creator Mitchell Hurwitz said in a statement on Wednesday. “I am so grateful to them and to 20th TV for making this dream of mine come true in bringing the Bluths, George Sr., Lucille and the kids; Michael, Ivanka, Don Jr., Eric, George-Michael, and who am I forgetting, oh Tiffany. Did I say Tiffany? — back to the glorious stream of life.”
The Bluths are coming back.
Starring Jason Bateman, Michael Cera, Portia de Rossi, Jeffrey Tambor, Tony Hale, Will Arnett, David Cross, Jessica Walter, and Alia Shawkat, Arrested Development aired on Fox for three seasons, from 2003 to 2005 and was canceled because people are idiots. It returned for one season on Netflix for a fourth season in 2013.
And if it doesn’t work out this time, just remember there’s always money in the banana stand.
