Itty-bitty Rila came to the shelter as a stray on January 28. In her two weeks here, she’s come a long way both physically and mentally. She’s looking healthier every day and gaining much-needed weight. The best part is how much she has come out of her shell; she no longer hides in a corner shaking in a ball, rather she comes forward for leashing, and the other day she bravely stood on one of our laps to get a better view of the other dogs in the yard!
Rila is quite interested in toys, takes treats gently, allows — and now, enjoys — petting all over, and knows basic commands such as “sit.” Rila is the type of dog that will continue to blossom as she gains trust for humans. We can’t wait to see her progress in a comfortable home. Came into the shelter on 1/28 as a stray.
