The Andrew W.K. Interpretive Dance Party is Worth Living For

The Andrew W.K. Interpretive Dance Party is Worth Living For

March 2, 2018 (August 28, 2018) // Riot Fest

“PARTY. PARTY. PARTY.” So begins “The Power of Partying,” and Andrew W.K.’s seventh album, You’re Not Alone; out today and available for purchase right now. We couldn’t think of a more appropriate way for the Man in White to yank us back into the enormously huge rock ‘n’ roll party that he started for us back in late 2001—a time when the whole world decided that not only was it time to party, but it was time to party hard.

We’re now a quarter of the way through 2018, and a perpetual party sounds pretty damn good right about now, doesn’t it? Thankfully, one of Riot Fest’s BFFs has reported for duty, slicing off 16 tracks of inspirational and uplifting lyrics over riffs so big, it probably took 15 years just to stack them up.

Since nobody knows the intricacies of You’re Not Alone quite as much as its producer, writer, and performer, we asked W.K. to write a review of the record for us. He said he’d rather perform an improvisational dance for each song instead; and as they say in the business, the artist is always right.

The full video is an emotional roller coaster that runs for about five minutes. We highly recommend you enjoy the whole thing, then share the GIF(s) that interpret how you’re feeling your favorite social media outlet(s), with the hashtag #AndrewWKinterpretiveDanceParty. Andrew W.K. and Riot Fest will be re-posting the best responses (and presumably partying).

Buckle up and enjoy You’re Not Alone, because an Andrew W.K. party is a party worth living for.
