David Hasselhoff, who you remember from shows like Baywatch and Knight Rider, is currently in the studio recording a new album, this time with a heavier-than-usual twist: he’s working on some metal songs.
Take it from The Hoff himself, who told Zeit: “I’m doing some heavy metal songs on my new album. Why not? I don’t have an album title yet, but it should read: Everything is allowed. I do everything because I can. Because I want it.”
This isn’t The Hoff’s first foray into music, of course; he’s enjoyed a successful music career across Europe, with fourteen studio albums under his belt—and his major taste for variety is worth mentioning. Aside from his German chart-topping song “Looking For Freedom,” there was that weirdly adorable song he wrote about Pingu, and he more recently sang in a space-themed 80s music video for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Heavy metal seems like the best next step.
If his past musical endeavors are any indication, we’re sure that Hasselhoff is going to shred.
