Purdy is sort of shy in her cage, but once she’s out she’s ready to get outta there. Some of the barking dogs scare her in the pavilion and she’d jump back. On leash, she’s pretty good. Purdy can be distracted by all the goings of the shelter, but get her attention and you’ll be really impressed at her manners. Purdy is sweet and loving and liked belly rubs. She showed off her sit on command and her paw too! Purdy takes treats gently and liked chasing and carrying the ball around in her mouth. She didn’t appear to guard the toy and was actually pretty great about dropping the ball when asked and wonderful at catch!. Seems like someone’s dog that was trained.
Though we’ve tested Purdy with dogs, she’d likely be best as a one and only. It seems possible she could be integrated into living with another dog who leaves her alone, but that would take some work and definitely some management.
Came in as a stray on 4/23/19 and is available for rescue holds NOW, transferable on 4/25/19 at 7 PM.
