Chicago Animal Care and Control STILL NEEDS HELP!! There are some misleading headlines out there that have the public thinking the shelter is empty and is closing its doors… THIS IS NOT TRUE.
The shelter’s vets have been instructed by the Department of Ag. to stop altering animals to save resources during the pandemic. For this reason, the shelter cannot adopt out animals directly as all animals must be fully vetted before adoption.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Foster or adopt an animal through one of our rescue partners!! The shelter currently has over 50 dogs waiting in cages for a home and the shelter WILL NEVER close its doors. It’s always taking in new dogs, daily, hourly, and by the minute. The only way the shelter will not fill right back up is for animals to keep leaving with our partners. They can’t help them without your homes and your love.
