Chicago is home to many great museums, with many of them free of charge to locals. Come August 21 of this year, Chicago will be getting another free museum: The Meme Museum.
“Life is but a MEME,” the web listing reads. “Come and explore the funniest Meme’s circulating the web and compiled together in an exhibition full of humorous and relatable MEMES!”
Yes, this is real (and it’s probably fitting for 2020, given how the only kind of comedy we’ve gotten this year has been online). The museum is a limited-time event opening later this month at 6th Dimension Space + Gallery. It’ll run through September 21st.
You can reserve a time slot online now, or purchase a $15 VIP ticket that lets you in past 10:00 p.m. with whatever alcoholic beverage you want. Should memes and alcohol mix? I guess that’s up to you.
