From his earliest performances with Strike Under and Trial By Fire to his most prominent work in Pegboy and Naked Raygun, Pierre Kezdy has spent his life giving us some of the best punk music in Chicago history. Naked Raygun and Pierre Kezdy are both synonymous with Riot Fest—Naked Raygun’s 2006 reunion is easily one of the most important pieces of Riot Fest’s formulating years, and Kezdy’s contributions to the early success of our festival are immeasurable.
Right now, Kezdy is battling cancer. He’s battled multiple forms of cancer among other medical issues for the past five years that have kept him out of work, pulling him away from doing what he loves. As a result, Kezdy and his family are struggling to keep up with medical costs. We’re hoping for the best for Pierre—but right now, he needs our help more than ever.
