We’re back and ready to get our hands dirty this year to make sure Douglass Park, home to Riot Fest, stays beautiful with the Douglass Park Beautification Initiative. This year’s efforts will include staff members taking up tasks like planting flowers and painting, alongside two days of park cleanups powered by volunteers.
In partnership with the Riot Fest Foundation, we’re looking for volunteers to help out this summer by mulching trees, picking up trash, pulling weeds, planting flowers, and more. All are welcome, and no experience is necessary. Volunteers will be rewarded for their time with tickets to Riot Fest 2021 (or 2022, your choice).
In addition, we’re once again inviting Douglass Park neighbors to register for free admission to the festival, and to our Douglass Park Job Fairs held each day. Read all the details below to participate or sign up—below are all the dates:

NEIGHBORHOOD REGISTRATION & JOB FAIRS
Once again, we invite our Douglass Park neighbors to come out and enjoy this year’s Riot Fest, September 17–19, free of charge.
Every year, we welcome area residents to attend the festival. We value community inclusion, and want our neighbors to feel that Riot Fest is not only something they can take part in, but also be proud of. We look forward to another weekend with our neighbors this September.
During the above times, a tent will be set up near the corner of Ogden Ave. and S. Sacramento Dr. in Douglass Park. Area residents who are interested in attending the festival on us can come to this tent with the following items to confirm they live in the neighborhood:
✶ Driver’s License, State-Issued ID, or Passport
✶ 2 pieces of official mail showing proof of residency (i.e. recent bank statement, utility bill, insurance card, pay stub)
In order to receive free admission, residents must meet the following requirements:
✶ Must live within four block radius of Douglas Park
✶ Boundaries are W. Arthington St. to the north, S. Spaulding Ave. to the west, W. Cermak Rd. to the south, and S. Rockwell St. to the east.
✶ In order to qualify, residents must register for free admission prior to event.
Those interested in applying for paid, temporary positions working the festival can read all the details in our post about this year’s Community Job Fairs.
