Do you appreciate the fine arts? Do you enjoy sharing mirrors with strangers, or the waft of a fresh urinal cake? Do you miss writing things on walls that don’t belong to you? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, you’re sure to enjoy our latest exhibit. Introducing… Riot Fest’s Virtual Museum of Venue Bathrooms.
To celebrate Indepedent Venues Week—and the return of live music in Chicago this month—we’ve curated a selection of restrooms from independent venues across the city, fully viewable in 360° and VR. Please do not attempt to use the bathrooms, as they are for display only (and are virtual). For an optimal viewing experience, please visit the exhibit on a desktop computer.
Click the toilet seat below to enter the Museum.
Featuring the restrooms of…
Reggies Rock Club • Cobra Lounge • Concord Music Hall
Thalia Hall • Empty Bottle • Lincoln Hall • Schubas
Riviera Theatre • The Vic • Park West
If you’d like to support the exhibit, you can do so by supporting local venues. While the Save Our Stages Act thankfully passed last December, most of the funds still haven’t been recieved by venues—and it doesn’t cover everybody. Make a donation to the Chicago Independent Venue League (CIVL) below and help fund grants for displaced Chicago-based venue workers, artists, and music industry staff.
