Who The Heck Are L.S. Dunes?

Who The Heck Are L.S. Dunes?

August 25, 2022 (December 6, 2022) // Riot Fest

“I haven’t heard them, but I’ve heard of them.” Even the most batshit crazy Riot Fest fans will see a few bands on our lineup that they’ve never listened to (whether they’ll admit it or not). This year, though, we have one band that absolutely none of you have listened to: L.S. Dunes. That’s because nobody knows who they are.

You’ve only asked us a billion times who the heck L.S. Dunes are, and the answer is… we don’t know. No, really. Nobody tells me anything here. All we know for sure is that they’re playing their first-ever show at Riot Fest 2022 on Friday, September 16.

Given the circumstances, it made perfect sense get them on the line for our ongoing Who The Heck series—and today, we’re happy to offer you the first-ever interview with L.S. Dunes. Hopefully the band (or my boss) will tell us all what the hell is going on sooner than later, but until then, you can read our exclusive scoop below.

Q&A

How did L.S. Dunes come to exist?

We are a group of old friends with a mutual admiration for one another both musically and as people.

What’s the one thing everyone in the band has in common?

“Love for song writing. We’ve known each other for at least half our lives. There’s a mutual respect for everyone’s ability to create… with Covid, these limited selections were all created in the lonely shadows of the cloud.”

Can you tell us what the name “L.S. Dunes” means?

No. That’s our little secret.

What should fans expect at your first-ever performance at Riot Fest this year?

Expect to see a fucking gang onstage playing their first show like it’s their last show.
