Wish John Stamos A Happy Birthday!

John Stamos is celebrating his 62nd birthday and next month Riot Fest will celebrate it’s 20th birthday!

We baked him a birthday cake, we sculpted him out of butter, we erected the World’s Largest John Stamos Butter Statue, we booked the Beach Boys, and still John Stamos has never attended Riot Fest.

• John, In the course of a show-business career, there are few – nay, no other – honors greater than an invite to Riot Fest. I can think of no other large music promoter that has gone to such extents to express the entire festival’s deeply held love and respect for you, your ageless handsomeness (so says my wife, anyway), and your total rock and roll spirit. As I write this I am home in my studio in Lausanne, Switzerland with no particular way to attend this year’s Riot Fest, but I have been to this truly engaging event many, many times in the past. I have had a pair of (expensive) eyeglasses crushed in the mosh pit in front of the Klaxons stage, I weaved back and forth in the rain with my (now) wife watching Belle and Sebastian, I watched many folks too young to remember the Violent Femmes run a sing-along of “”Country Music”” and “”American Death Song””, I unsuccessfully begged a roadie for J. Mascis’ guitar pick (apparently not having boobs put me at a disadvantage), and I celebrated having new twins by ditching that same wife and seeing the Flaming Lips. All I can say is this: Nobody has EVER created a butter bust of me. But they have of you. If that isn’t love, then I don’t know what is… Very truly yours, – Tony

• Hello John Stamos. Do you remember liking my Instagram post on August 19th (maybe 20th) 2017? You probably don’t. It was a photo of Riot Fest tickets I won in a raffle at an event in honor of your birthday that year. The event was put on by Q101, although they were known as WKQX at the time. I think this was due to Q101 going off air in 2011 and becoming a news station only to return to an alternative music format in 2014, but the Q101 name had been sold to another party. It wasn’t until 2022 that the Q101 moniker was re-acquired thus brining it back to the station. Also, the event was at a pop-up restaurant called Riot Feast which was created by the people behind Chicago’s best music festival, Riot Fest. It was a carnival themed restaurant that had taken over a space in the Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago. The space had previously been a Saved By The Bell themed pop-up restaurant called Saved By The Max. Can you believe that? Anyway, back to my original point. You probably don’t remember liking my post about winning those passes but I do and I was grateful that you did so. You seem like a very kind person and I would like to wish you a happy birthday. – Joe Hernandez

They made it up to me with Matchbox 20 with Paula Cole tickets instead. That was my first concert. I never gave up that one day I’d have the chance to see the Beach Boys. From the very first time I ever saw you on Full House when I was very small and found out you also played the drums for The Beach Boys, I dreamed of one day seeing you at a music festival in Chicago. Maybe this year for your birthday and Riot Fest’s, all of our dreams can come true (I’m sure you’ve also always dreamed of playing drums for a crowd of absolutely adoring fans at a music festival. • Happy Birthday, Uncle Je– Mr. Stamos! As much as we’d love to have you at Riot Fest, I must respectfully ask that you do not attend this year nor step foot in the city of Chicago. With Austin Butler and Jeremy Allen White already filming here, I fear that I (my wife) cannot handle yet another beautiful man in this town. We are happily married, but my wife (I) simply cannot bear it. I spoke to the Beach Boys, and they agree that you should stay at home in Los Angeles. While Riot Mike may have a fetish for your ageless features, great hair and buttery voice, I think it would be best for everyone involved that you listen from afar. If you must attend, I have a Mariano’s bag that you can wear to preserve your anonymity and so that others won’t be overwhelmed with your lusciousness.
