Beyond The Fest is live this weekend at Riot Fest!
Friday
The day begins with fun activities and interactive community vendors. Guests can purchase a cup of tea and learn about North Lawndale bees at the Beelove Café booth while exploring the work of our other community partners.
The afternoon shifts to live music, including Michael Damani bringing his cosmic blues sound to the Community Stage. At 5:00 PM, Duane Powell takes over the center of the ring for a two-hour dance party featuring house, soul, disco and Chicago dance-floor energy. This should be positioned as one of the signature Community Area experiences of the weekend.

Saturday
Boxing Out Negativity opens the featured programming with a youth sparring showcase alongside other community organizations. The afternoon moves into a local music showcase featuring Fantasma Negra, VII and Zion Ali.
At 4:00 PM, the Community Area will host its first lo-fi rap cypher at Riot Fest. The ladies of 40+ Double Dutch Club will follow with their Playground Experience, teaching attendees how to jump double Dutch and inviting the crowd to participate.
The open windows between performances will feature games, community spotlights and other interactive activities.

Sunday
Boxing Out Negativity returns for a second youth sparring showcase with participating community programs. The afternoon continues with local bands Through and Through and LP Trixie.
At 4:00 PM, the final music and dance experience begins with Del Marie, followed by Terror Squad, Main Attraction and Nu Emage. DJ Roc, “The Crack Capone” of Beatdown House and a pioneer in the juke movement, will then bring Chicago juke energy to the Community Area.
