“The Velvet Underground & Nico” to get six disc reissue

Start salivating now, VU fanatics. On October first a six disc version of  The Velvet Underground & Nico will hit stores in celebration of the album’s 45th anniversary. According to reports the massive set will contain the Stereo and Mono mixes, Nico’s Chelsea Girl LP (which features extensive contributions from VU members), the infamous Sceptre Studios Acetate version, rehearsals recorded inside of Andy Warhol’s Factory and a 1966 live set from Valleydale Ballroom in Columbus, Ohio. When there’s more concrete information about the track lists and audio samples I’ll make sure to let you know.
