Thankfully, slavery is dead in America. That ugly part of our history has been demolished, abandoned, destroyed… until Adidas came along and had to rehash the past. #morons
Out comes a new gym shoe, designed by Jeremy Scott of JS Roundhouse Mid, it is short of nothing but pure… “did they really just do that?” A bright neon and colorful gym shoe with a velcro lace strapped across the top, which is fine so far. But then add in a bright orange rubber shackle which attaches from the shoe to around the ankle. Now that’s just an ingredient for “WTF.” Adidas’ rep claims that the shoe is in no way representative of slavery, but anyone with a pair of eyeballs will beg to differ.
Since its sneak peak on Facebook, Adidias has been slammed with negative publicity and scorn from the public. The company stated: Since the shoe debuted on our Facebook page ahead of its market release in August, Adidas has received both favorable and critical feedback. We apologize if people are offended by the design and we are withdrawing our plans to make them available in the marketplace.”
