Though they’ve been mostly quiet for the last two and a half years since their ’08-’09 reunion tours ended, word has now officially come down about the second break up of The Jesus Lizard. In a recent interview with Rolling Stoneguitarist Duane Denison confirmed that news. According to the interview Denison was pushing the band toward writing new material, which caused the rest of the band to flinch. The guitarist ends the interview with “In a way I thought, ‘Well, why spoil it?’ …The reunion went so well, but personally I am tired of playing those songs and I don’t wanna play them anymore … I’d be perfectly fine with, ‘Let’s leave it at that, leave it on a good note, we’re all still friends.'” While the reunion didn’t spawn any new music, a live DVD/LP titled Club was released by Chunklet and a coffee table book (titled Book) is due out on August 7.
