It’s been brought to our attention that Chipotle has been facing a little drama. In busy metro areas such as New York and New Jersey, cashiers have been rounding customers’ totals up or down to the nearest quarter to help the lines move quicker. The only downfall, when the difference was rounded up, they did so without mentioning a word. Since that little embarrassing hiccup, they have changed their policy. Going forward, Chipotle claims that it will only round the total down.
In short, Chipotle could have rounded their totals to the nearest $5 mark if they wanted to. You simply cannot put a price on happiness.
