Nothing like being back at work after a long Labor Day weekend. Drinking, smoking, grilling, tanning… it’s sad knowing that summer is coming to a close and white pants are back to being fashion outcasts. But then when you see someone posting a picture of a 2,014 lb bacon cheeseburger on their Facebook and you weren’t there to eat it… and you thought life couldn’t get much worse on this Tuesday afternoon.
Near Carlton at the Black Bear Casino Resort, the bacon cheeseburger set off a Guiness book record having weighed in at 2,014 lbs of heaven with a 10ft diameter. The previous record holder weighed 881 lbs. “What I saw today was a feat of remarkable teamwork that resulted in a world record burger that actually tastes really good,” Robertson, a Guiness official, released in a press release. This larger-than-life burger condiments consisted of: 60 pounds of bacon, 50 pounds of lettuce, 50 pounds of sliced onions, 40 pounds of pickles and 40 pounds of cheese. In the end, it took 4 hours to cook the burger and more than 7 hours to bake the bun.
We are still unclear as to what was served for desert, but we’re assuming everyone got a bottle of Tums.
