Standing behind a door and jumping out at someone, funny. Placing clear saran wrap around a toilet, even funnier. There is even a day dedicated to pranking people–April 1st. However, there is one prank punching bag you don’t want to mess with – the “Obama Bop.”
A local mom & pop shop in Mt. Washington, Kentucky decided to cause a political scandal by literally, taking a jab at the President by creating a vinyl punching bag featuring a caricature of President Obama with a bruised eye. The owner of Stouts Building Center, Kenneth Stout, said the item is not a political statement, “it’s just a good comical item, and that’s all it is, it doesn’t pick one political candidate over another.” While Stout feels no need to apologize to the public for the punching bag, half of the customers feel as though they can no longer support the local business. One customer states, “before this moment, I was being supportive of a local business, after this moment, I’m basically voting with my dollars.”
Welp, if the government wasn’t keeping a close eye on your business then… they sure are now.
