Think you can compete on Fear Factor and eat all those dirty worms in record time? Or be a contest on Survivor and snack on roaches? Better yet, host Bizarre Foods and become the next Andrew Zimmern and eat your way through every country’s less-than-appetizing delicacy?
Eddie Archbold, 32, was up for that challenge. Eddie, of West Palm Beach, signed up to compete in an insect eating competition at a local reptile store. Being known as the life of the party by his friends, Eddie ate dozens of cockroaches during the competition and was eventually crowned the winner. According to his Facebook page, Eddie also took part in a super-worm eating contest earlier in the night. After winning the event, Eddie became ill and started vomiting. He eventually collapsed and was pronounced dead.
We do not envy the medical examiner and the “stomach content” part of the exam.
