Going under the knife is a scary feeling. Knowing you’re going to be cut open can cause anxiety and extreme nervousness. But then again, there is that reassurance: seasoned doctors, drugs, sterile operating room, etc. Until you find out that there is a sewer rat running around in that sterile operating room. Then you realize you’re fucked screwed.
At King’s Hill Hospital in Nottinghamshire, England, a rodent was found scurrying through the operating room. The rat was said to have entered the operating room Monday night when the room was not in use. According to Karen Tomlinson, the director of operations at the hospital, “we immediately took steps to thoroughly clean the area and called in external pest control experts to eradicate the problem.” As a result, close to 40 operations had to be cancelled leaving patients and family extremely frustrated. Rats are known to carry salmonella and other deadly diseases which are a major threat to hospital patients.
Noted, do not get injured in Nottinghamshire.
