Back in 2007 double disc reissues of the Joy Division catalog hit stores, with the second disc being given over to live shows. The man responsible for cleaning up those live shows, Drew Crumbaugh, recently went about re-evaluating his work and wasn’t pleased with what was released under his then current skill set. As a result, he’s gone back to the original tapes of the February 8, 1980 University of London Union show and cleaned them up again, posting ultra high quality FLAC files on his blog. He also details some of the technology changes in the last five years, his process and general thoughts.
