Not surprisingly, people are already asking for a second season of Netflix series ‘Stranger Things’. If you haven’t seen it yet, stop what you are doing and watch it now.
If ‘The Goonies’ and ‘E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial’ and ‘Stand By Me’ had a baby and Steven Spielberg and Stephen King adopted it, you would have ‘Stranger Things’. From the soundtrack and story to the nostalgia and acting, it really is much watch TV.
And according to Parrot Analytics, it really is the the most watched digital original series in the U.S. in July. It was even watched three times more than ‘Orange Is The New Black’.
So the big questions are will we get a second season and will we see the same characters? Executive producer Shawn Levy says yes and yes: “We definitely are hopeful to go several more seasons. And the plan is to continue with this set of characters while introducing a few critical key new ones next season. So I’ll just say that a lot of the big mysteries get answered at the end of Season 1, but we are very much kind of unearthing new problems and questions that merit future stories and future investigation in the most enjoyable way. So we are in love with our cast and our characters.”
“Things end up being resolved to some extent at the end of Season 1, but not entirely. And that’s why we’re so hopeful we get another few seasons to live with these people a little longer,” he says.
While Netflix has yet to confirm or deny whether there will be a second season or a sequel. We’ll just sit back and impatiently await their decision. Sequel or second season, we don’t care, just give us more!
But seriously, the acting is phenomenal, the kids are amazing, Winona Ryder is fantastic, and it hits you right in the nostalgia muscle without being cheesy. It really is the best movie / TV series we’ve seen all year.
