The Dupe Shop has opened in Toronto. Specializing in and “selling pretty much exclusively cassettes,” The Dupe Shop has an extensive collection of new and used cassette tapes.
“We kind of want to make this a hub for cassette culture,” manager Malin Johnson told the Toronto Star. “It’s kind of a cool, eclectic mix we’re creating.”
Looking to make a mix tape for your BF or GF? How about a sweet road trip mix? The Dupe Shop has you covered. They have a station where you can make your own mix tapes. “It really meant something to make one for someone, choose the songs and sequence them, make the artwork. So I think cassettes are really rooted in that personal experience in a way that digital formats have had a hard time recreating,” Johnson said.
The Dupe Show is located in Bloordale Village at 1185 Bloor St. West, Toronto, Ontario.
