Member Zima? Member the 1990s?
Zima, the clear, slightly carbonated, alcoholic malt beverage, that many of you probably drank in high school, is making a coming back, just like everything else from the 1990s.
Ad Age is reporting that MillerCoors is reintroducing Zima sometime in 2017. MillerCoors said in a statement, “if you’re one of the zillion fans who have missed Zima, the answer should be clear.” And that “more news [is] coming soon”
No timetable has been announced for the release, but it’s been reported that Zima is already in distributor warehouses, and will “allegedly be offered for a limited time only.”
Launched in 1993, Zima sold 1 million barrels in its first year. 15 years laters, due to lack of sales, and the inability to attract male drinkers, Zima was discontinued in the US in 2008.
So if you’re excited to try “Zomething different”, again, the wait is almost over.
No word yet if memberberry will be one of the new flavors offered, but rest assured, the sales from people drinking Zima ironically will surely make it a best seller again. At least for a few years.
