In the race to the bottom of laziness and fast food, Pizza Hut has announced their next marketing stunt, shoes that can order Pizza Hut pizza with just the touch of a button.
Pizza Hut is only making 64 pairs of the special Bluetooth-enabled high-top sneakers, or as Pizza Hut is calling them, ‘Pie Tops’ (get it? pizza pie? pie tops?), which means you won’t get a pair. They will instead go to “influencers and media” and other people more important than you.
It’s a tie-in with March Madness and marketing stunt that lots of media outlets will write about and give Pizza Hut some free advertising. Hey guys, do you remember that Pizza Hut is a thing? See? It totally worked!
“The bulk of these will go to influencers (and) media, just to create buzz and talk value and we’ve reserved some for the opportunity for a select few Pizza Hut super fans to receive a pair of these custom Pie Top high-top tennis shoes,” said David Daniels, Pizza Hut’s VP of advertising and media.
